When Miss C contacted me about doing a rope work and bondage session, I was nervous and timid about the project. Boudoir itself is all about angles and poses, where rope work and bondage give the subject very limited abilities and put a lot of pressure on me, the photographer to find the best positions, angles and approach to accentuate the beauty and sensuality without being vulgar or obscene. This session pushed my limits and brought me a new greater sense of my art and why I love what I do!
What made this session even more challenging was being in Miss C's home. In home lighting is always less than ideal but she and I had already discussed her desire for the images to be black and white which was perfect! I cannot image these images as anything but black and white... it accentuates the different forms of her bondage perfectly.
One of the most interesting parts of this session was the creativity I needed to take in order to best get a great variety of images while being extremely limited in moving my subject! Miss C handled it with grace as I helped her up and down around her room and did everything I asked to best create these stunning images.
We also played with honey to create some extremely sensual images. It was sticky and messy but worth every moment to capture something so unique and intimate!
Honey was a completely new medium for me. I learned that it moves incredibly fast on a warm body... faster than either of us imagined but it made for some incredible imagery.
I learned so much from this session and Miss C was a joy to work with! I've grown as an artist and as a photographer and I cannot wait to use these new-found skills for future clients with similar interests.
